The Friars Goose Water Sports Club is located in the North of England near Gateshead on the south bank of the River Tyne.
The location of the Club is between A19 and A1 just of the A184 north (here is the map).
The Friars Goose is a fully functional boat yard with a large concrete slipway, travel hoist, pontoon landing, workshop for restorations and building projects.
The boat yard was built in place of an old historic shipyard which was closed in 1964.
The lower and upper area of the yard can accommodate fishing and sailing boats, motor boats and the jet skies.
The large concrete slipway when using large trailer would require a car.
The water on the river Tyne is deep but tidal and the speed restriction for cruising is 6 knots.
The recently refurbished clubhouse is family friendly with a large pool table, bar and the kitchen which cater for all members and visitors.
It is open every day except Tuesday and Thursday. Opening times are here.
The Club offers mooring facilities, fishing competitions, sailing opportunities, RYA approved training courses and many other social events.
